AUP rejects prof’s request of switchback from TTS to BPS
PESHAWAR, July 08- Despite the decision of the Syndicate and Tenure Track System (TTS) Committee, the management of the Agricultural University Peshawar (AUP) in a move of victimization has turned down the case of Professor Dr. Subhan Qureshi to switch back from Tenure Track System (TTS) to Basic Pay Scale (BPS) and restoration of his salary.
Professor Dr. Subhan Qureshi is the pioneer of the academia, private sector partnership for the development of the livestock sector to guarantee food security in the country. He is the chairman of Diary Science Park (DSP), which has organized three international two-day conferences so far. Two conferences have been organized in AUP Peshawar while one conference was organized in Turkey last year.
The renowned expert on livestock sector of the country have joined the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences (FAHVS), Agriculture University Peshawar (AUP) as Professor TTS on 1-8-2013 along with 12 others, with the fundamental spirit of open recognition of merit of the candidates as per Model Tenure Track Process Statutes 2008 – HEC.
However, some senior faculty members including the Professor Qureshi, submitted a joint application for switch back from TTS to BPS, to protect their career benefits.
The request was principally agreed by the Syndicate in their 95th meeting held on 25-10-2016, for switching back TTS faculty to graded position as per statutory proceduPres/provisions.
Six professors were switched back from TTS to BPS vide letter number 627/R/UAP dated 10-2-2017 and one professor later on; while the case of Professor Dr. Subhan Qureshi was also recommended by the DTRC Committee in their meeting held on 2-2-2016 and submitted vide letter No.FAHVS/469 dated 28-3-2016, but was not considered due to reasons betterly known to management of the university.
The Registrar UAP communicated observations of TTS Committee vide letter No.351/S-1/UAP dated 21-6-2018, which were responded vide letter number 5172/LM/AUP dated 22-6-2018, endorsed by the Chairman LM and Dean FAHVS, recommending his switchback from TTS to BPS position and restoration of his salary, stopped since February 2018.
The Professor has now requested the Chancellor of the University, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for approval of his switchback TTS to BPS and restoration of his salary as per decision of the syndicate, recommendation of the TTS Committee and endorsement of the Chairman Livestock Management Department and Dean FAHVS.
