Ms Nasreen Khattak Ex-MPA briefed on Dairy Science Park-4 at Konya Turkey
Ms Nasreen Khattak, Ex-MPA and a social worker visited the University of Agriculture Peshawar and participated in discussion regarding achievements and future plans of the Dairy Science, with special emphasis on successfully co-organizing the Fourth International Conference and Industrial Exhibition on Dairy Science Park, scheduled for November 1-5, 2017 at Selcuk University Konya, Turkey.
Professional, responsible, and a proven Leader, Ms Nasreen Khattak is one of the few women who have been successful in reaching the Provincial Assembly. She had been nominated to the reserved seats for women in the 2002 elections. Not only is Ms. Nasreen Khattak a successful politician, she has also a long history as a social activist especially on issues affecting women. With more than two decades of wide experience of working with local, national and international organizations Ms. Nasreen is a valuable asset of QWP.
Prof Qureshi briefed her on the preparation made so far. The Conference will be held at Konya the city of Maulana i Room in continuation of the series held during November 2011, 2013 and 2015 at Peshawar. The three conferences focused on rehabilitation of the post flood Dairy Sector of khyber Pakhtunkhwa during 2011; sensitizing the stakeholders about Halal meat export potential of the Region during 2013 and deliberations on Self employment for the youth and hygienic food production for the people of the Region during 2015.
The fourth event of the series is being held with the theme Achieving Food Security through Entrepreneurship Development and Biorisk Management.
During the third event Dr Mithat Direk accompanied by Vice President of Selcuk University Konya and signed MoUs with the university of agriculture Peshawar, UVAS, UAF and PMASAU for collaboration under Mevlana Exchange Program and other arrangements. We would like to harness these opportunities for be facilitating visits of Scientists, Students, Government Officer, industry representatives , farmers, and civil society representatives.
Dr Mithat also had meeting with the representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and delegates from Afghanistan. We expect participation from these areas.
Ms Khattak was pleased to know that two huge organizations ASUD and SETBIR of Turkey, representing a large number of industrial companies, have agreed to participate in the event. The leading industrialists of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in particular and Pakistan in general will be invited to display their products and services during the event, in addition to a large number of representatives from the farming community, government, development and private sector organizations will participate.
I hope this event will prove as a great opportunity for Academia Industry linkages and a union between the people of East and West on the historic and spiritual city of Maulana i Room.
